To legally operate special-type vehicles, such as wheel rollers and tracked vehicles, on the road, you must hold a valid W, R, or T endorsement on your driver’s licence.
The trainees will undergo formal in class assessment in association with the unit standard/s followed by a short practical assessment drive on the special‐type vehicle.
This driver’s licence endorsement allows you to drive the special purpose vehicle on a ‘road’ as defined by New Zealand Transport Agency, this is not an operator course.
