Wheels, Rollers & Tracks Licence Endorsement (WRT)

Course Overview

To legally operate special-type vehicles, such as wheel rollers and tracked vehicles, on the road, you must hold a valid W, R, or T endorsement on your driver’s licence.

The trainees will undergo formal in class assessment in association with the unit standard/s followed by a short practical assessment drive on the special‐type vehicle.

This driver’s licence endorsement allows you to drive the special purpose vehicle on a ‘road’ as defined by New Zealand Transport Agency, this is not an operator course.

All our courses include morning and/or afternoon tea. Plus, we have the ability to be flexible around your working environment – we can come to your workplace to train your staff!

NZQA Unit Standard

• 16701 ‐ Demonstrate knowledge and skills for driving on a road for Endorsement W (wheels), 1 credit
• 16702 ‐ Demonstrate knowledge and skills for driving on a road for Endorsement R (rollers), 1 credit
• 16703 ‐ Demonstrate knowledge and skills for driving on a road for Endorsement T (tracks), 1 credit

Notes

  • You must hold the appropriate class of licence that covers the weight of the special‐type vehicle you want to drive.
  • Where a trainee has been assessed as competent for the licence class, an approved NZTA certificate is issued for the competency assessed. This is not a licence. You must take this to an NZTA licencing agent (VTNZ or AA) and have it put on your licence.
  • Licence endorsements or Medical costs are not included in course fees.
  • Course costs include NZQA Credit Fees.

Cost for 3 units: $460.00 inclusive of GST
