Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Got a question about getting your forklift licence, moving up to a Class 2 to 5 heavy vehicle licence, or adding an endorsement like F or WRT? You’re in the right place. Our FAQs are here to make things simple, covering what you need before you book, how our training works, what to bring on the day, and what happens after you’re assessed.

If you can’t find the answer you’re after, get in touch and we’ll be happy to help.

What licences and endorsements do you offer training for?

We offer NZQA-approved training for:

  • Heavy Vehicle Licences: Class 2, 3, 4 & 5
  • Forklift OSH Certificate and F Endorsement
  • Wheels, Tracks & Rollers (WTR) Endorsements

Whether you’re just starting out or need a refresher, we have a course to suit your experience level.

Where are you located?

We are now based at 118 Dalbeth Road, Ngongotaha, Rotorua 3096.
Training can be completed on-site at our location or at your workplace (subject to suitability).

Do I need experience to do a forklift course?

Not at all! Our OSH Forklift Operators Certificate Course is suitable for beginners, while we also offer refresher courses for experienced operators and F endorsements for those needing to drive forklifts on a road.

How long do the courses take?

Course durations vary:

  • Forklift OSH Certificate: 1–2 days
  • Heavy Vehicle Licences: Up to 2 days for Class 2–5 time reduction courses
  • WTR Endorsements: Approximately 4 hours (depending on skill level)

We aim to deliver efficient, competency-based training without unnecessary delays.

What are the entry requirements for truck licence training?

You’ll need to:

  • Hold a current learner licence for the class you’re applying for
  • Provide a valid medical certificate
  • Have some experience driving on NZ roads (particularly for Class 2 and above)

We’ll guide you through what’s required for each course before you enrol.

Can I use my own vehicle for training?

Yes, in most cases you can provide your own compliant vehicle for assessment, which can also reduce course costs. Alternatively, we can supply a vehicle for training.

Do you offer group or business training?

Absolutely. We work with businesses across the region to train multiple staff. We can deliver training at your site or ours, depending on what’s best for your team.

How much do your courses cost?

Costs vary depending on the course and whether you’re supplying your own vehicle. For example:

  • Forklift OSH Certificate from $260–$550 (incl. GST)
  • Class 2–5 Licence courses from $1,020–$1,925 (incl. GST)

All prices include NZQA credit fees. Medical or licensing agency fees are not included.

What qualification will I receive?

On successful completion, you’ll receive an NZTA-approved certificate that you take to a licensing agent (e.g. AA or VTNZ) to have the licence or endorsement added.
Some forklift courses also include an OSH Operators Certificate, valid for 3 years.

How do I book a course?

You can:

  • Call us on 07 347 0525
  • Visit our website and fill out the enquiry form
  • Email us directly to check availability and course dates

Early bookings are recommended as courses fill up fast.

When do your courses run?

Courses are held regularly at our Rotorua training site, and can also be arranged on-site at your workplace by request.
